Encryption is the use of algorithm called a cipher to take plain text (unencrypted) and turn it into an indecipherable group of characters to anyone that doesn’t have what is called “the key” to decode it. The key is a unique set of numbers and letters that will tell a computer how to turn the encrypted text back to plain readable text.
