In terms of word processing, a line spacing is when a sentences or lines are separated above and below with a space. A double space is when a line is separated by a space that is the equivalent of two times the full height of one line of text. Most word processing software is set-up with single spacing to start. Line spacing is sometimes referred to as leading.
